The concert features the inspired Scottish Symphony by Mendelssohn as well as rustic dances by Bartk and one of Mozarts best-known piano concertos performed by a young keyboard virtuoso. Even before the beautiful second movement of Amadeus Piano Concerto No. 21 was used in the 1967 movie Elvira Madigan, this music had already secured a special place in the hearts of audiences.
